# Medication Management in Assisted Living, San Antonio

Prescribed medications given on schedule and documented every time, through an eMAR system connected directly to our long-term care pharmacy.

## Why medication support matters
Missed doses, double doses and confusing schedules are among the most common reasons families start looking at assisted living. At OneStone Oak, medication support is part of everyday care rather than an add-on.
## How it works at OneStone Oak
OneStone Oak uses **QuickMAR**, an electronic medication administration record (eMAR) system that integrates directly with our long-term care pharmacy partner, **Legends Pharmacy Long Term Care Solutions** — no faxed orders. Care staff follow each resident’s prescribed schedule and document every administration, and because staff are on duty around the clock, support is available for morning, evening and overnight routines.
## What an eMAR changes for your family
- **No missed medications** — scheduled doses are prompted and recorded.
- **Alerts when a prescription changes** — new orders from the pharmacy appear in the system.
- **Fewer errors** — no hand-copied paper charts.
- **Easy reordering** — refills are requested through the integrated pharmacy.
- **Supervisor oversight** — discrepancies are easy to spot and resolve.
During the assessment, bring a current list of medications, dosages and prescribing providers. Ask how prescriptions are received and stored, how refills are coordinated with your pharmacy, and how the team communicates with families and physicians when something changes.
## Questions to ask during your visit
- How are new prescriptions and dosage changes recorded?
- Which pharmacy arrangements are available, and who coordinates refills?
- How does the team handle as-needed (PRN) medications?
- How will the family be told about a missed or refused dose?
- Which needs would fall outside assisted living and require another provider?
## Included in one all-inclusive rate
The monthly rate is set after an assessment of physical and medical needs and is all-inclusive, with no separate level-of-care or medication charges. Confirm whether prescription costs are billed separately when you receive your written quote. OneStone Oak is private pay only. Call (210) 436-8669 to schedule an assessment.
